Puppy Love Caring Canines, Inc., like most non-profits, depends on support from the corporate community.

Pop-tops for Puppy Love

Each year "Minnesota Good Sam" camping chapters have a competition between chapters for the most aluminum can "pop tabs". These pop-tabs are then sold to benefit their favorite charities. One chapter , Northern Lights managed to solicit the support of two local elementary schools and won the last three years. Demonstrations at the schools of the abilities of Puppy Love trained dogs really motivated the students. The results of involving school children in such a visible charity were fantastic and resulted in 300 to 400 pounds of "Pop-Tops for Puppy Love" each year. (There are approximately 1,520 pop-tabs to a pound and sells for about 70 cents/pound. Although they weigh little, they can really add up and are clean and easy to store.)

Sprite, (my alert dog) and I, have visited these businesses in our community on a regular basis. They have helped make us a team and provided Sprite a wide range of experiences and environments (including various sights, sounds, and senses) for her training and socialization. They have welcomed us with open arms; thank you!

During the two and a half years my family and I fostered and trained Jackson, several businesses consistently helped us along the way, and deserve recognition.
Jackson has recently been placed with his client and they make a great team!

Jackson grew up in Eagan’s Wal-Mart! Starting at 12 weeks of age, Jackson got used to being in crowds, walking next to shopping carts and power chairs, and the important “leave it” for food on the floor. Thanks Marge and all employees who always greeted us with warm smiles!	A great place to train! Jackson learned about large crowds, elevators, see through railings on the second and third floors, (for height training) and push plates to open doors. All our visits helped raise awareness about the value of assistance dogs.
This company really gives back to the community! Oreck participates in our Wag-N-Wheel fundraiser every September, and also includes us in their “twelve days of giving” campaign during the holiday season. Dog hair and Oreck products go hand in paw! Thank you Oreck!	We stop at Grandma’s in Duluth with Jackson maybe twice a year and we are always welcomed with smiles. They find us the perfect table so Jackson can “go under” and practice becoming invisible during our lunch. The staff remembers us, and asks how he is doing! Great people….thanks!

Thank you to Sue and Steve Schnarr of Snowshoe Goldens for donating Passion to Puppy Love! Snowshoe is known around the world for breeding dogs with outstanding appearance and temperament. Passion is being trained as a service dog and will get Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog certifications. She will be a demonstration dog for Puppy Love and surely make us proud.
